We were her guests for lunch at her home in a faraway hamlet in Kumaon hills. She plucked fresh vegetables for us from her small piece of land and we had a hearty meal with her family which included cattle. She symbolised the champion woman of rural India. Work hard, fight all odds, look after family and yet be cheerful and exude tremendous positivity. All work, no intellectual bakwas and awards for being a Woman Achiever ! (Kumaon, 2012) Salute to all such unsung women on the occasion of International Women's Day.
