Everything about Dhankgar is majestic...more than 1000 years old Buddhist monastery...an imposing view of the surroundings....stark grey all around....complete isolation. What a feeling it is to be here.

Fortunately a group of motivated people from all walks of life have launched a campaign to save the monastery from crumbling. Let us hope that they are able to do something. Met an architect couple from Ahmedabad who are actively contributing to this initiative. Save Dhankgar is a people’s initiative to protect this unique heritage.
