Very close to Kochi international airport, Kaladi is 35 kms from the city. Kaladi was the place where Adi Shankaracharya spent his childhood. This is the place where all the incredible stories of the brilliance of this child, who is credited to have revived Hindu faith, took place.

Adi Shankaracharya Janmabhhomi Kshetram is an impressive structure which is also the ashram. This is on the banks of river Poorna. This complex also houses the samadhi of Aryamba, mother of Adi Shankaracharya. Not far from this ashram is the sthoop which houses an exhibition of prominent events from the life of Adi Shankaracharya on the walls of its eight storied structure.

It was a great feeling to see these places dedicated to one of the most iconic torch bearers of Hindu faith. We were particularly happy to see that these places were clean and maintained very well.

Not far is Ramakrishna Mission which was again a beautiful structure and maintained very well. The main hall invites you to spend few quiet moments. (Kalady, 2017)
